The City of Natchitoches is the
oldest, surviving settlement of the Louisiana Purchase. Due to its
history, Natchitoches is rich with heritage and tradition. This is
evident in the annual barge parade, the Natchitoches Pilgrimage (a tour or
the historic district and plantation homes), and the Christmas Festival
known as the Mardi Gras of Northern Louisiana. Don't miss one of the many
tours of Natchitoches, or forget to stop by the Arts Center.
Natchitoches also offers fun for the family. At
Bayou Pierre Alligator Farm, you can enjoy Cajun music, authentic Cajun
food, and a whole lot of alligators.
Also, have a picnic or hike one of the trails at
Kisatchie National Forest. |
